Nigerian international Rafiu Durosinmi is reportedly on the verge of joining Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, with the club preparing a record €10.5 million bid to secure the services of the Super Eagles striker.
According to reports from Belgian media, the 23-year-old forward has emerged as Genk’s top attacking target this summer as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Durosinmi is currently contracted to Italian club Pisa, having joined the Serie A outfit from Czech side Viktoria Plzeň earlier this year in a deal reportedly worth around €11 million, including bonuses. However, Pisa’s relegation to Serie B has prompted the Nigerian striker to seek a move that would allow him to continue competing at a higher level.
Negotiations between the two clubs are understood to be progressing positively, although discussions remain ongoing after Pisa reportedly adjusted their initial asking price in an effort to facilitate the transfer.
Genk’s pursuit of Durosinmi reflects the club’s long-standing confidence in Nigerian talent. The Belgian side has enjoyed tremendous success with Nigerian forwards in recent years, including Paul Onuachu and Tolu Arokodare, both of whom flourished in Genk’s system before attracting wider European attention.
Club scouts have reportedly monitored Durosinmi since his impressive spell in the Czech Republic, believing his physicality, aerial strength, and finishing ability make him an ideal fit for the club’s style of play.
Although the striker recorded one goal and one assist in 12 league appearances for Pisa, Genk remain convinced of his long-term potential. At just 23 years old, the Nigerian still has significant room for development, and a return to a league where powerful centre-forwards have historically thrived could help reignite his career.
Should the deal be completed, it would represent a major statement of intent from Genk as they aim to remain among Belgium’s top clubs while competing in European competitions.
For Durosinmi, the move offers the opportunity to rebuild momentum, secure regular first-team football, and strengthen his position within the Super Eagles setup ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures.
Nigerian supporters will be watching developments closely, hopeful that another move to Genk can replicate the success enjoyed by previous Super Eagles strikers and provide Durosinmi with the perfect platform to fulfil his immense potential.
If completed, Rafiu Durosinmi’s transfer to KRC Genk could prove to be one of the standout moves involving a Nigerian player during this summer’s transfer window.
