Anthony Joshua Survives Car Crash on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway As Two Feared Dead

World heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, narrowly escaped death on Monday afternoon after being involved in a serious motor accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

The crash, which occurred around 12:00 p.m. near the Sagamu Interchange, reportedly involved Joshua’s Lexus SUV with registration number KRD 850 HN and a stationary truck parked by the roadside.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said the impact was severe and claimed that two occupants of the vehicle, believed to be expatriates travelling with the boxer to Ogun State, lost their lives.

Rescue officials who arrived promptly at the scene confirmed that Anthony Joshua was pulled from the wreckage with only minor injuries, a development that drew relief from onlookers who gathered after the news of the incident circulated. 

The Ogun State Police Command later confirmed the accident, stating that Joshua and other injured victims were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

While police acknowledged fatalities from the crash, they said further details were still being investigated.
