“Calvin Bassey, damn. I think he really stood out in games. Even the two previous games against them, he was solid,” Mbeumo said.

The forward emphasized Bassey’s physical dominance and surprising pace, noting how difficult it is for attackers to get past him.

“Yeah, Calvin Bassey is a beast; the guy is a beast. He’s too strong, it’s crazy, and on top of that he’s fast too. It’s not cool to play against him,” he added.

Haaland Also Applauds Nigerian Defender

Mbeumo’s praise echoes similar comments from Haaland, who previously faced Bassey during an intense league clash between Manchester City and Fulham FC in December. The thrilling encounter ended in a 5–4 victory for City.
