Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has been crowned Baller of the Week following a commanding performance in the Turkish Super Lig, edging fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen after an impressive weekend for Nigerian forwards in Turkey.
The towering 6’7” forward powered Trabzonspor to a convincing 3–0 victory over Samsunspor on Saturday, scoring twice in the 23rd and 81st minutes.
His first goal came via a powerful header, before he sealed the win with a calm and clinical finish late in the game.
The brace took Onuachu’s league tally to 15 goals for the season, placing him firmly among Europe’s most prolific scorers and reinforcing his reputation as one of the Super Lig’s most lethal finishers.
Beyond his goals, Onuachu delivered an all-round Man of the Match performance.
He created the most chances in the game (2), registered two key passes, completed 88% of his passes, won 2 of 3 dribbles, and recorded 100% accuracy on long balls, underlining his growing influence in Trabzonspor’s attack.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen was also on target for league leaders Galatasaray, scoring the third goal in a 3–0 away win over Rizespor on Sunday.
The strike moved Osimhen to nine league goals, as Galatasaray extended their lead at the top of the table to six points.
The contrasting styles of both Nigerian stars Onuachu’s aerial dominance and physical presence versus Osimhen’s pace and technical sharpness have intensified the race for the Super Lig Golden Boot, making the title run-in even more compelling.
