West Ham United manager Nuno Espírito Santo is accelerating efforts to strengthen his squad, with the club now prioritizing the signing of a dynamic, ball-winning midfielder to boost their survival chances this season.
The Hammers have identified 22-year-old Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, currently playing for Belgian side Zulte Waregem, as a top target. According to TEAMtalk, West Ham believes Nnadi’s energy, ball-recovery ability, and relentless pressing make him an ideal fit for Nuno’s system.
The London club is reportedly preparing a five-year contract offer, with a proposed transfer fee in the region of €4 million.
West Ham face competition from multiple Premier League clubs
However, the Hammers are not alone in the chase. Brighton & Hove Albion have scouted Nnadi extensively due to his suitability for their high-pressing structure. Leeds United, also in a battle near the foot of the table, are eager to bolster their midfield and are tracking the Nigerian closely.
In addition, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are monitoring developments, forcing West Ham to act decisively if they hope to win the race for the Super Eagles prospect.
Chrisantus Uche scores first goal for Crystal Palace

Meanwhile, another Nigerian player making waves in England is Chrisantus Uche, who scored his first Crystal Palace goal following his summer move to Selhurst Park.
Trusted by manager Oliver Glasner to start the European trip to Shelbourne, Uche made an immediate impact. In the 11th minute, he timed his run perfectly to meet Eddie Nketiah’s crisp low cross, tapping home from close range to open his account for the club.
The goal marks an important milestone for the forward as he looks to secure a regular role in Palace’s attacking setup.
