Nigeria has revealed its 54-man preliminary squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, as the Super Eagles aim to bounce back from their FIFA World Cup disappointment and pursue a fourth African championship.
Coach Eric Chelle has called up a mix of experienced internationals and promising talents. Fulham trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze feature prominently, alongside Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and team captain William Troost-Ekong. Former Leicester City standout Kelechi Iheanacho, as well as Cyriel Dessers, Paul Onuachu, and Slavia Prague defender Igoh Ogbu, also return to the squad.
The Super Eagles, runners-up at the last edition in Côte d’Ivoire, have been drawn in Group C alongside former African champions Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania, making for a challenging group stage. Nigeria will kick off their campaign against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars at Fez Stadium on December 23.
