Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have officially entered the growing European chase for Nigerian sensation Sani Suleiman.
The Rossoneri now join Chelsea, Tottenham, and several other top clubs monitoring the highly rated Flying Eagles winger ahead of the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old has become one of the most heavily scouted young African talents in Europe this season, following his rapid rise at AS Trenčín and his standout performances at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he impressed despite Nigeria’s Round-of-16 exit to Argentina.
Reports from TEAMtalk indicate that Milan have shown concrete interest, placing them in direct competition with some of England’s biggest clubs for the teenager’s signature.
Suleiman has shone consistently in the Slovak top flight, but it was the U-20 World Cup that truly propelled him into the spotlight.
His pace, intelligence on the ball, and fearless attacking play made him one of the tournament’s breakout stars, attracting scouts from multiple top leagues across Europe.
Interest intensified after a recent CIES Football Observatory study ranked Suleiman as the most creative U-21 player in the world for penetrative passes in the final third averaging 2.52 per 90 minutes.
This placed him ahead of emerging talents across 50 global leagues and cemented his status as one of Europe’s most promising creators.
Clubs including Chelsea, Tottenham, Brentford, Rangers, Ajax, PSV, PSG, Royal Antwerp and several Bundesliga sides have been tracking his progress. Middlesbrough reportedly made contact with AS Trenčín last week regarding a potential January deal.
Although Trenčín hold a two-year extension option on Suleiman’s contract, which runs until 2026, the overwhelming interest has prompted the club to consider a mid-season sale.
Negotiations are ongoing, with the club keeping potential destinations confidential as proposals arrive.
Suleiman’s camp is focusing on a club that can guarantee a clear development pathway rather than simply a glamorous badge.
AC Milan are believed to view him as a long-term project with near first-team potential, while Chelsea and Tottenham see an opportunity to secure one of Africa’s fastest-rising prospects before his market value skyrockets.
