Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere has heaped praise on teammate Ademola Lookman following his standout display in the club’s 3-0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt. Lookman was at the heart of everything, grabbing a goal and an assist as Atalanta cruised past the Bundesliga side.
The victory also saw manager Raffaele Palladino return to the attacking trio that powered the club to the 2024 Europa League title in Dublin: Lookman, Gianluca Scamacca, and De Ketelaere. And based on current form, the chemistry hasn’t faded one bit.
Speaking during Monday’s pre-match press conference, De Ketelaere highlighted how Lookman’s resurgence could tilt the balance when Atalanta faces Chelsea in a crucial UEFA Champions League group finale.
When asked about their attacking partnership, the Belgian didn’t hesitate:
“Very good,” he said confidently.
“In Frankfurt, we returned with the same three-man attack from the Dublin final, along with Lookman, and we played well together. He’s improving, and I’m happy for him.”
Lookman has now registered three goal involvements in his last three games, rediscovering the sharpness and explosiveness that made him one of Atalanta’s most dangerous weapons.
As Atalanta prepares to host Chelsea on Tuesday night, the 28-year-old Nigerian winger will be looking to deliver once again, and based on his current form, he may just be the X-factor in Bergamo.
