The prestigious Nigeria Pitch Awards is back for its 12th edition, and the countdown to honouring Nigeria’s best in football has officially begun.
The President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, Shina Philips, made the announcement at a special luncheon in Ikeja, Lagos, outlining the voting schedule and the highly anticipated awards ceremony.
Football stakeholders and fans can look forward to the following key dates for the 12th edition:
The voting begins on wednesday, October 29, 2025 and closes on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, while the Award Ceremony comes up on Monday, December 22, 2025 in a yet to be announced Venue.
Shina Phillips also confirmed that voting forms will be sent via email to all voters, maintaining the awards’ commitment to a credible and professional voting process coordinated by SIAO Partners.
In his address, Shina Philips expressed profound appreciation for the unwavering support from football stakeholders, partners, sports editors, and the College of Voters over the last 12 years.
He acknowledged the “determination of all stakeholders to establish and sustain a reward platform for footballers, administrators, football lovers, and supporters,” noting that the journey has been a lesson in resilience, dedication, and patriotism.
” This humble gathering is a token of our appreciation,” Philips stated, thanking the National Sports Commission, the Nigeria Football Federation, the College of Voters, the Nigerian media, and all partners and nominees.
Looking beyond just awards, the platform is set to expand its scope with a major initiative. Shina Philips proudly announced the launch of an annual sports conference to precede the Award Ceremony.
The conference is designed to attract local and international speakers, providing a unique opportunity to renew and re-focus national attention on sports development in Nigeria. The ultimate vision is to open up avenues for administrators to harness the opportunities that sports provide for the nation, this ambitious project are expected to be outlined in the coming months.
