In a landmark moment for Nigerian grassroots football, striker Ayodele Folahan Adeloye has signed a four-year deal with FK Vora, becoming the first major export from the Evolution Cup to secure a move to Europe.
Adeloye, who lit up the 2024 Evolution Cup as its top scorer, caught the eye of international scouts with his lethal finishing, imposing physicality, and relentless energy. The young forward, developed at Stars Builders Football Academy in Ogun State, now embarks on his professional journey in Albania’s top division the Kategoria Superiore.
His transfer was made possible through the efforts of European scout Toni Bilandzic and FIFA-licensed agents Lindi Ngwenya and Mehdi Menji, who spotted his talent during the Evolution Cup and facilitated the move abroad. Bilandzic, in particular, played a pivotal role in connecting Adeloye with FK Vora.
“This is a proud moment for us,” said Olawale Olatoye, Project Strategist of the Evolution Cup. “Ayodele’s transfer is not just a personal achievement; it validates the Evolution Cup’s mission of identifying and nurturing talents ready for the global stage.”
Since its inception in 2022, the Evolution Cup has steadily grown in stature, offering a dedicated scouting ground for European and African clubs. The most recent edition, held in February 2025 in Abuja, saw Green Lock FC crowned champions, with Adeloye among the breakout stars.
His move to FK Vora not only reflects his own hard work and potential but also marks a breakthrough for the Evolution Cup as a credible launchpad for international football careers.
As Adeloye begins his new chapter in Europe, all eyes will be on him to lead by example and pave the way for more Evolution Cup talents to dream big and reach the global stage.
