With the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) fast approaching, Super Eagles midfielder Harrison Austin has voiced his enthusiasm ahead of the tournament. The Ikorodu City star, who impressed during the last Nigeria Premier Football League season, is among the players called up to represent Nigeria at the home-based continental competition.
Speaking with the team’s media department, Austin shared insights into the squad’s mindset and preparation as they gear up for the tournament.
“As a team, we often discuss the competition and focus on improving every aspect,” Austin said. “After most games, the coach highlights our lapses and shows us how to correct them.”
The midfielder also emphasized the importance of team unity and self-review, noting that the players hold regular meetings to address areas needing improvement. “It helps us perform better during training and in upcoming matches,” he added.
Nigeria will be looking to make a strong statement at CHAN 2024, and Austin’s confidence and work ethic reflect the determination within the squad.
