Bracing up for CAF Women’s Champions League Qualification (WAFU ZONE – B), Bayelsa Queens have deemed it imperative to beef up their team with more players, including 3 attackers, 1 midfielder, and 1 defender.
The additions are Janet Akekoromowei a forward from Nasarawa Amazons, striker Mary Lucky from Abia Angels, forward Bankole Sofiat, defender Oladeji Oluwabunmi both from Naija Ratels, and Kafiat Mafisere a midfielder from Edo Queens.
Talks are said to be in the pipeline to woo 3 more players over to the team as blurted out by the technical adviser of Bayelsa Queens, Whyte Ogbonda.
“We are really happy to have these players joining us,” said Whyte. “They will bring their wealth of experience, which their teammates will benefit from, and they have a real hunger to win.
“Since their arrival, they have been working hard and this will definitely elevate our levels. I know they will fit in perfectly, and one area we’re really happy about is the attacking line where we now have depth”, Whyte said.
“These players have terrific technical ability which I am sure Bayelsa Queens fans will appreciate and enjoy when they get to see them in action.
“These signings reflect our commitment to strengthening the squad with the best talent as we continue to raise the standard of women’s football in Nigeria and Africa,” Whyte Ogbonda added.
Pledging commitment and expressing their excitement, the new players have this to say:
“We’re excited to join Bayelsa Queens and can’t wait to give our best for this great club as they have a rich history of intelligence and technically sound players making their mark,”.
