The Al-Ittihad Ladies and Super Falcons winger, Francisca Ordega, has revealed their primary objective for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024, which is to reclaim their continental title after an unsuccessful campaign in 2022 in Morocco.
The Super Falcons witnessed their lowest ebb in 2022 in Morocco when they lost three matches and ended in fourth place, the most mediocre performance ever put out there in the international arena.
The competition is set to kick off in July in Morocco, providing the team with the opportunity to pursue their tenth title ambition. The Super Falcons are in Group B with Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
Ordega has unequivocally set and articulated the goal which by implication resonated with her colleagues. The objective, according to the Al-Ittihad Ladies winger, is to bring back the trophy.
“The target is to win, of course. You can’t go into a battle expecting to lose, so the objective is to win and bring back the trophy,” She snapped.
The Super Falcons will battle Tunisia in their opening match at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday, July 6.
