Kwara United U-19 team kicked off their National Youth League Super 8 campaign in style with a commanding 2-0 victory over Enyimba U-19 on Monday morning at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
A quickfire brace from Abayomi Abayomi in the 1st and 21st minutes sealed maximum points for the Harmony Boys in their Group A opener, leaving Enyimba chasing shadows throughout the encounter.
Reacting to the victory, Kwara United U-19 Head Coach, Abdulkadir Jimoh, described the win as a morale booster, while urging his boys to remain focused.
We’re excited to start on a winning note, but we won’t get carried away. This is just the beginning, and we need to build on this momentum going into the next game,” Coach Jimoh stated.
Kwara United now shift their attention to their second group match against Kano Pillars, scheduled for tomorrow.
