Governor Seyi Makinde Approved Plots Of Land For Victorious Players And Officials Of Shooting Stars ’98 Sets

Governor Of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde Addressing the Press in Government House Ibadan.

The Oyo state Governor. His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde has graciously approved the agelong reward of the plots of Land promised victorious players and officials of shooting Stars 1998 set by the state government according to a press release co-signed by Akin Maxwell Makinde the Secretary of Shooting Stars sports club in 1997- 1999.

You will recall that shooting Stars of Ibadan won the Nigeria Premier League as Champion and the WAFU Cup which is the only continental cup won for the country and making it double in 1998. Because of the great achievements, Oyo state military administrator then Connel Amen Oyakhire make a pronouncement of a cash reward of One Million Naira and a plot of Land for each of the players and officials.

After Twenty -Six years of waiting Governor Seyi Makinde finally put smiles on the faces of the entire team by approving the Lands for which almost previous past Governors could not achieve for the victorious squad of 1998 set.

The players, officials and management of the club under the Chairmanship of Late Bode Oyewole were happy and grateful to His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde who believe in hard work, excellence, commitment, and dedication especially for those that serve Oyo state meritoriously.

Engr. Seyi Makinde’s government being a government that redresses Injustices or act of ommission by her predecessors is definitely a government that has the fear of God and human feelings for the governed who suffered from Injustices or ommission.

The Governor has taken Bull by the Horn thereby investigating the cause of delay and finally approved the Lands for the Warriors that has made the state and our beloved country proud in 1998.
