Victor Osimhen delivered a standout performance on Wednesday night, scoring twice to lead Galatasaray to a 3–1 victory in the Turkish Cup final, securing the club’s 19th title in the competition’s history.
The Nigerian forward, currently on loan from Napoli, opened his account with a composed finish after being picked out by a well-weighted through ball from Yunus Akgün. He later sealed the win with a clinical strike from close range, again assisted by Akgün.
The win capped a memorable night for Galatasaray, whose fans celebrated another chapter of domestic dominance, and also marked Osimhen’s first piece of silverware with the Turkish giants and added weight to what has already been a sensational debut season in Istanbul.
Since arriving last September, Osimhen has been in electric form. His brace in the final takes his goal tally to 35 in 39 appearances across all competitions. In the Süper Lig, he leads the goal-scoring charts with 24 goals in 28 matches, with five assists that have put Galatasaray in control of the title race.
With just three league fixtures remaining, the Istanbul club sits eight points clear at the top, and Osimhen’s continued brilliance could help secure a domestic double. He also remains a strong contender for the league’s Golden Boot, an honour that would cap off a spectacular campaign for the 26-year-old.
