Everything working out fine, Flying Eagles midfielder, Israel Ayuma is set to be invited to the Super Eagles after the NK Istra of Croatia player impressed Eric Chelle at the AFCON U 20 tournament in Egypt, according to reports by www.totorinews.com.
Ayuma had a commanding presence in the midfield of the Flying Eagles and little wonder that Chelle, the head coach of the Super Eagles who was in Egypt to watch the tournament had singled him as one of the stand- out performers in the team.
Feelers reaching us indicates that Chelle is excited and satisfied to hand Ayuma his first Super Eagles invitation soon judging by what he witnessed in the tournament and this was disclosed by a top official of the team, who pleaded to be anonymous.
“Flying Eagles players gave their best in this tournament. We are glad that Eric Chelle was also present to watch the team and i can tell you that some players really caught his attention. One of them is Israel Ayuma,” the official said
“Ayuma had a very good tournament. Eric Chelle is fully convinced that he has the quality to play in the Super Eagles. His confidence with the ball, passes and ability to shoot are some of the qualities that has endeared him to Chelle.
“It will be definitely be a thing of joy to see Ayuma and one or two others to be invited soon to the Super Eagles. Chelle is ready to give them opportunities very soon.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria won bronze at the tournament after defeating host, Egypt 4-1 on penalties on Sunday evening in Cairo.
