Bayelsa Queens, also called the Prosperity Girls, clinched their sixth NWFL Premiership title in style, thrashing Naija Ratels 4-1 at the Remo Stars Stadium on Saturday, 17th May, 2025.
Vera Samuel stole the show with a stunning hat-trick, while Mega Cynthia added another goal to seal the win. Despite Naija Ratels‘ efforts, Bayelsa Queens’ superior performance earned them the vital win and the championship trophy.
Technical Adviser Whyte Ogbonda celebrated the team’s hard work and patience paying off.
In his words,“ The team spirit and togetherness on the pitch was amazing. It was all about being patient and staying focused on the target, which is the reason why we are in Ikenne, Ogun State,”.
“ I would like to appreciate the Government of Bayelsa State for believing in us and giving the team the enabling environment to thrive, and for sure we are going to beef up the team as we have qualified for the CAF WAFU-B Qualifiers in Cõte d’Ivoire,” Coach Whyte Ogbonda concluded.
