No vacancy for lazy players
EDO QUEENS BOSS Moses Aduku has called for total commitment from players, coaches, and supporting staff of the club to enable the team to excel next season.
Addressing the team after 2-0 defeat to Nasarawa Amazons in the semi final match of the 2025 edition of President Federation Cup championship played last Saturday at the Prince Abubakar Audu University Sports Complex Anyigba in Kogi State, the Bayelsa- born tactician expressed disappointment over the team’s ouster from the championship, adding that his girls lost it in the second half.
He, however, thanked God for bringing the season to an end without tears or sorrow. He also applauded the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Sports Commission boss, Hon. Enabulele Desmond, his board members, the coaches, players, supporting staff, and all football stakeholders in the State for their support.
“Well, we must first of all appreciate Almighty God for bringing the season to an end without witnessing any tears. Even though we lost the NWFL premiership title and the President Federation Cup final ticket, as a team, we must appreciate God for all He has done for us in Edo Queens. Agree, we ended the season trophyless, but there are better days ahead. Edo Queens will definitely triumph next season.”
Well done girls, good fight, but as your coach, I must not fail to tell you that we lost this game to Nasarawa Amazons by ourselves. We had the first half of the game, we took total dominance, had every opportunity of winning the match, but failed to utilize our chances.”
“As we go back to plan for next season, we must be ready to show total commitment, discipline, dedication, and respect for constituted authorities. We have failed this reason, we can’t afford to fail next season. The only way forward is for us to rededicate ourselves to the job in our various departments.”
“Moreover, I want to use this opportunity to thank the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Sports Commission Chairman, Hon. Desmond Enabulele, board members of the commission, our teeming supporters, and all football stakeholders for their massive support. On behalf of Edo Queens FC, I sincerely apologize for our failure this season. Once again, I say thank you all for your huge support.”
“I also want to use this medium to appeal to our amiable chairman not to leave us in the dark. We had our dark moment this season, but I promise you that Edo Queens will bounce back big next season.”
Meanwhile, coach Moses Aduku has said that there will be no vacancy for lazy players in his team next season, stressing that he will only work with people who are ready to deliver.
