Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referees Appointment Committee chairman Ahmed Yusuf Fresh confirmed that referees in the country will soon start using communication gadgets introduced by FIFA.
Fresh speaking at the fitness test organized for all referees in the country which is also part of the FIFA Member Association Elite Course Programme for 2017 disclosed that the country is getting it right as far as referees are concerned.

We’ve to thank FIFA because they gave the NFF whatever we needed to improve our referees and officiating.
As for our League, I’m assuring by 2017/2018 season we’re going to have the communication gadgets available for all referees and matches.
We are getting it right with development of our referees. So far so good for the international referees we’ve 29 of them and almost all of them have passed the requirements needed.
For the national referees about 100 have had their fitness test with only about five who had issues. I’m excited with our referees performance,” said Fresh.
Ahmed Yusuf Fresh who expressed his happiness also promised that a Nigeria referee will officiate at the FIFA world cup in 2022.
FIFA badge referee Ferdinand Udoh is the only Nigerian referee with Communication gadgets. He was also the first referee to used the vanishing spray in NPFL matches
