Former NFF President Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has insisted that the project of FOSLA Academy is still a work in progress despite the modest achievements the school has recorded in the past six years it was established.


Lulu who spoke in Abuja at the weekend during the maiden joint graduation ceremony of the Academy held at the Multi purpose Hall of the Academy in Karshi Abuja, said that what they have been able to achieve in the lives of the players is just the first phase of their developmental process, that the second phase would be more tasking “its on record that we identified these students from the primary schools six years ago. We nurtured them to effectively combine their education with football.

Today, we can proudly say that we have succeeded in laying a good foundation for them, that we would build upon to make them very useful citizens of this great country, Nigeria”. Continuing, the former FCT Director of Sports said “within this period, the boys won various laurels in game. Winning the FCT Principal cup back to back, playing up to the NNPC/Shell Cup, playing the finals of the Etisalat and Copa Coca-Cola U.15 and many others. To crown it all seventy percent of our students made over 200 mark points at the 2017 edition of the University Matriculation Examination (UME) and all the students we presented for the Senior Secondary Schools Examination made over five credits with English and Mathematics”.

Lulu said that the next stage is to support the boys to move to the University, while playing for the various professional league clubs in the country. He said that the boys will embark on playing tour of FCT and Osun state before decamping “the FCT FA has arranged two friendly matches for the boys in Abuja. Then, they will travel to Osogbo Osun State to play two matches against Osun United and Osun U.17 team” he revealed.

Fosla Academy Graduating from the Academy
26 students graduated from the Senior Secondary school class, while 10 students graduated from the Junior Secondary School class. Individual awards were won by the students with the School former Head Boy Solomon Abraham invested as the Ambassador of the School. Solomon Abraham was the Head Boy of the School from inception to graduation. He emerged the highest goalscorer of FCT Principal cup in 2015, highest goal scorer of the 2016 Shell Cup competition, had 210 points from the 2017 UME and over 8 credits including English and Mathematics in 2017 SSCE.
