Nigerian born San Jose Earthquakes front man Quincy Amarikwa showed an act of kindness to a cab driver by giving a cheque of $2,200 (approximately N1.1 million ) after learning that he was behind in his mortgage payments.
The California native was on his way to the airport when he entered a cab driven by Argentinian Pedro Hahamian, who told him of his difficulties working in the taxicab industry.
“If you think of others first, you’ll have everything you need, ” Amarikwa told SJEarthquakes.com.
“If you do something good for someone out of the kindness of your heart, they feel more compelled to the the same or more for someone else.
“I just said, ‘Pedro, it was nice to meet you, I would love for you to pay it forward the next time you can help someone.”
Amarikwa is eligible to represent the United States and Nigeria but has committed his international future to the African powerhouse.
