NFSC CHAIRMAN: Rev Sam Ikpea

The intervention of the Presidency in the shameful protest by the Super Falcons over the non payment of their bonuses and allowances, has been praised by the National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Sam lkpea.
President Buhari, yesterday directed the Ministry of Finance to pay all outstanding payment due the players and officials of the team.
In a release made available to the press, Ikpea thanked  President Buhari for his timely intervention in the face of the embarrassment the episode has brought on the nation.
“We want to express our sincere appreciation to President Buhari for playing the roles of a good and compassionate father. This intervention and directive by the president would go a long way in assuaging the feelings of the players, “- lkpea stated.
He went on to admonish the sports ministry and particularly, the NFF, to ensure such unsavoury situation does not repeat. Adding that the welfare of players and officials must be made a top priority in their plans.
”  I want to advise that the sports ministry, in tandem with the NFF, work out modalities that would make the welfare of our sports men and women paramount.
” lt is a fact that without these athletes, there wouldn’t be the ministry or the football body. They must be encouraged at all times, ” he added.
Conclusively, he reaffirmed the commitment of the NFSC to the development of Nigerian football. Adding that as the 12th player of the national teams, the NFSC are ready to support the ministry and the NFF in taking Nigerian football great again.
